Program Overview

Your baby will grow and change tremendously throughout the first year of his/her life.  The Eagles’ Nest Nursery provides a safe, loving and nurturing environment for your precious baby to grow and develop.  Our caregivers use the Bright Baby program to carefully plan one on one and small group activities important to each child’s developmental stage.  Caregivers talk, play, sing, move, practice yoga, sign and read with your infant.  Activity cards help babies explore new experiences, concepts, and skills.  Photographic books build vocabulary and language skills.  Plush Puppets keep babies fascinated and engaged in games and activities.  Music CDs introduce infants to a world of music through sing-and-play-along songs, worship & classical music, as well as sounds heard in nature.  Because verbal communication is not yet possible, language skills are developed through American Sign Language.  Your child’s caregiver will communicate daily activities and explain how each activity supports infant brain development.  Each evening you will receive a “Small Talk” report on your child’s mood, nap times, diaper changing times and types, amount of fluids and food consumed, and additional notes from his/her caregiver.

Environment

Entry Area – In order to keep our Nursery as clean and sanitary as possible, Eagles’ Nest utilizes a Dutch door for drop off and pick up times.  Caregivers change into their Nursery shoes upon entering the room.  When preferred, you may communicate with Nursery caregivers and drop off or pick up your child right at the door.  Of course, you are always invited to kick off your shoes and visit for a while!

Personal Space - Each child is assigned a large cabinet close to the diaper changing area, for their personal belongings.  Many parents choose to bring supplies in bulk to avoid the hassle of bringing a large bag each day and possibly forgetting something.

Sleeping Area - Each child is assigned his/her own crib to use for nap times throughout the day.  Cribs are not shared for any reason and are labeled to avoid confusion.  Crib sheets are washed and cribs are sanitized at the end of each week.

Active Play - Older infants enjoy playing in the active play area.  Structures to climb in and out of promote gross motor skills development.  These toys are kept on the cushiony foam mats, so little spills don’t hurt.

Quiet Play - Smaller infants enjoy tummy time, individual and small group activities in the quiet play area.  Caregivers get down on their level and love to play, read, sing and snuggle throughout the day.

Meal Times- Caregivers enjoy bonding with babies by using bottle feeding times to rock and sing to them.  As babies grow and are able to eat solid foods, caregivers feed them baby food and other snacks in a high chair.  High chairs are sanitized between each use.

Diapering Area – All wet diapers are changed on a regular basis throughout the day.  Bowel movements are cleaned and changed quickly on an as needed basis.  Caregivers use gloves for each individual diaper change in addition to sanitizing hands and the diaper changing station to avoid the spread of germs.  Eagles’ Nest provides wet wipes, however if a certain brand is required, our caregivers will use and keep separate any wipes you provide for your child.
